CYNTHIA’S SCHOOL OF DANCE
History
Cynthia’s School of Dance started in 1987 offering dance lessons in the Community Room of the Berkley Hills Fire Hall located on Siebert Road. We offered tap, ballet and jazz classes one day a week.
In 1988 Cynthia’s School of Dance & Music was officially founded in the North Hills Village Mall on McKnight Road. Having our own dedicated space allowed us to add music and voice lessons. Cynthia’s had eight happy years in the North Hills Village Mall. The studio needed to expand.
Cynthia’s School of Dance & Music relocated to 4721 McKnight Road across from Red Lobster in 1996. The studio was designed by an architect with the needs of the students in mind. It included two dance rooms with observation windows, a music room, office, waiting rooms and bathrooms.
Our dancers and teachers have entertained at nursing homes, shopping malls, amusement parks, community days, and other events. Some of our past students and teachers have been featured performing at Busch Gardens, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Disneyworld, International Touring Company of Sesame Street, National Touring Company of My Little Pony Show, Bodiography Dance Company, Fox TV’s So You Think You Can Dance, and a professional ballet dancer with the Russian National Theater to name a few.
Thousands of students across the Tri-State Area have taken lessons at Cynthia’s School of Dance & Music. The studio has received many awards and recognitions from the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to being awarded the Best Place in the City of Pittsburgh to take your children for an education in the arts!
Cynthia’s School of Dance & Music continues to offer dance, music, voice and musical theater lessons to hundreds of students’ ages 2- adult each year.
